Welcome to the 10th Annual

Gorrie Elementary Walk-A-Thon!

 

When: Friday, October 25, 2019, 8:00am-10:00am

Where: Gorrie Elementary

What:  A Walk-A-Thon is a health and well-being event designed to raise funds to support our school. The event will take place during regular school hours on Gorrie Elementary School's campus. Parents are encouraged to participate and cheer on our amazing students and teachers as they walk the perimeter of the campus, raising funds in hopes of winning the coveted Walk-A-Thon Trophy for their classrooms!

Why: This event benefits Gorrie Elementary School by providing funds for resources such as teacher training, events, technology and facility improvements, class programschool initiatives and many other items to continuously improve the learning experience for our children.

This year, the funds being raised will be used to support our teachers through classroom grants for continuing education workshops and seminars, science projects, writing aids, and supplemental materials not provided by the county that our teachers believe will make a difference in learning in our classrooms. A portion of the funds will also supplement the art and music department, ongoing maintenance, repair and replacement of visual aid equipment in every classroom, and our Gorrie Cares service projects which allows our students to give back to the community (see below for the 2018-2019 funds distribution list).

Goals:

Individuals

  • Individual GOAL: $75
    • Our school wide goal of $50K can be achieved if each student raises at least $75
  • Money raised will be collected from now through October 24, 2019 (please funnel contributions through your individual fundraising page) 

Sponsors

  • We have multiple sponsorship levels to choose from for businesses, families and individuals. To learn more, CLICK HERE: Sponsorships
  • The Sponsorship deadline is Wednesday, October 16th. Sponsorships received after this date will appear on the website and in future publications, however we cannot guarantee banner placement prior to or during the event.

How to Register (parents can assist students):

  1. Click on the Registration button in the menu to the left
  2. Find your teacher(s) and join your class team
  3. Add photos and/or video of yourself
  4. Email your fundraising link to family and friends asking them to sponsor you

Gorrie Elementary PTA is a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization. Tax ID number: 23-7102323. Your donation is tax deductible as a charitable contribution to the fullest extent of the law.
